Why Private Travel Dedicated Car & Driver

Explore Sri Lanka by Private Car & Driver

Getting around Sri Lanka by bus or train works for single point-to-point hops, yet public transport rarely links national park gates, highland tea estates, and quiet southern bays without slow multi-bus transfers.

Our private Sri Lanka tours pair your group with a dedicated air-conditioned vehicle and an experienced English-speaking local driver from airport arrival to departure. You set morning start times, pause whenever a roadside fruit stall or viewpoint catches your eye, and travel strictly with your own party.

Your driver navigates mountain switchbacks, coordinates 4×4 park jeeps, and carries your main suitcases ahead by road if you ride a stretch of the hill-country railway—giving you practical local guidance at every stop.

Helpful Advice Common Questions

Practical Details Answered

Straightforward answers on how our private car-and-driver tours operate, vehicle classes, schedule flexibility, and deposits.

Why hire a private car and driver instead of taking trains or buses?

The highland train between Nanu Oya and Ella is well worth riding for scenery, while rail and bus links across the rest of the island are slow and rarely reach safari park gates or rural lodges. Having a private vehicle lets you link regions comfortably, leave suitcases safely locked in the car during sightseeing, and travel on your own schedule.

Can we adjust departure times or stops during the trip?

Yes. Because the vehicle and driver are dedicated solely to your party, you can start earlier to beat midday heat at monuments, stop for lunch or king coconuts whenever you like, or spend extra time at places you enjoy.

What types of vehicles do you provide?

For 1 to 2 travelers, we use clean, air-conditioned Japanese sedans or SUVs (such as Toyota Premio, Allion, or Axio). For 3 to 6 travelers—or couples carrying extra luggage—we provide Toyota KDH passenger vans with reclining seats and dual-zone air conditioning.

How do deposits and balance payments work?

We ask for a 20% advance deposit to confirm your vehicle, driver, and any hotel bookings included in your package, and we submit highland train reservation requests once Sri Lanka Railways opens its 30-day booking window. The remaining balance is payable before arrival or upon arrival by card or bank transfer.
